Hello everyone,

Well, 2 gigs at the end of this month and i think we are finally up and running properly now, no mean feat with 10 talented and busy individuals! It was funny when Prince announced his O2 "residencey" as it was over Sept/Oct i was looking at booking some more shows but i guess leave those months alone now!

So 2 gigs at the end of this month and like the rest of us avid Prince fans we will be heading to the capitol for a hanful of gigs and aftershows Smile

A new album too, and what a cool album it is!...... frankly cant wait to be playing Chelsea Rogers in the set!

Hopefully see you on the road soon.

Paddy.

Hi there,

Well last weekend really made up for the stress's attached to this band! The irony is that it now leaves us with new problems.... but in a good way! Basically it was never my intention to have a lookalike Prince style of thing. Hats off to those who do that well, but i just wanted to get a group of awsome musos together who wer Prince fans and play gigs and have fun!

On Sunday night Dale sort of.... "Happened"

All of a sudden we had a bit of a Prince look alike! Before the show Dale had locked himself in the dressing room Loo for about 30 mins... most of us didnt see him until we were onstage waiting for the curtain to go up! Suffice to say it was great addition to the EM experience and gives me something visually to play with that i had not anticipated at all.

Which leads me on to the pleasent problem of having to work more on the choreography etc. A nice problem to have though Smile

Those in the know will have noticed that our origional Bass player Funky Duncan stood in for the gig, unfortunately his replacement had some issues and was unable to do the gig, Robin was a top bloke and would have been great but unfortunately he had to follow some other obligations and in the end could not play for us. So Dunc stood in and was as amazing as ever.... sadly this was for one night only, hey ho. Fortunately the bass position is now sorted again (finally i hope this time!) more details soon.

The new tracks were great too.... Mountains and Anotherlover from Parade and The Cross and I Could Never take The place Of Your Man from SOTT. All four of these were packed out with the live horn parts from both respective tours and an absolute joy to play. Mountains in particular as i think that was a tough one to pull off live.

In the pipeline we have a "No Brass" set being developed for if we are without them. More of an oppertunity to play other tracks than chuck gigs if our horns are busy so all is well. Also we are in the early stages of putting together an "aftershow" style of set full of rarer track for the Funk/Jazz clubs..... we are all sad fans who just LOVE playing live so this is an ideal to play some stuff not played at bigger venues as part of the Greatest Hits set, and for the band to solo and show off a bit in more jam friendly surroundings.

Oh well, thats it for now, gigs start again from the end of June and we will rack up a few before the end of the year, hopefully a hometown gig for me in Hudds too in May.

Peace,
Paddy

Thought I had to take time out and write about how fantastic the gig was at The Limelight, Crewe last Sunday! I cannot think of a better way to brighten a dull winter Sunday evening, than listening to Prince songs! It as an absolute "Must-See" for any avid Prince fan. The band were great and the selection of songs was superb. In a word Fabulous! Really looking forward to their return to Crewe, shame it is not until July!!
